Study Programs of Kadampa Buddhism

The General Program provides a basic introduction to Buddhist view, meditation and practice that is suitable for beginners. It also includes advanced teachings and practices of both Sutra and Tantra.

The Foundation Program provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through the systematic study of six texts.

The Teacher Training Program is designed for people who wish to train as authentic Dharma Teachers. In addition to completing the study of fourteen texts of Sutra and Tantra, the student is required to observe certain commitments with regard to behavior and way of life and to complete a number of meditation retreats.

Foundation Program

Universal Compassion
with Kelsang Namdrol
Sundays and Wednesdays 7-9pm

Foundation Program (FP) is a twice weekly structured program that offers people the chance to study in a systematic and indepth way. In FP we work our way through a text by reading the sections, listening to teachings, meditating and doing paired and group discussions on the subject matter. Through this way of studying we gain a deeper understanding of the teachings and how to practically apply them.

We are studying Universal Compassion, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The heart of Buddha's teachings is unconditional love and compassion. This inspired explanation of the popular Buddhist poem, Training The Mind in Seven Points, reveals powerful and far-reaching methods for us to develop these beautiful minds. It also explains how we can transform our day-to-day living, including even the most demanding and difficult conditions into opportunities for personal and spiritual development.

If you are interested in joining Foundation Program you first need to discuss your interest with Kelsang Namdrol.
